Susie in Lima 320 Posted September 7, 2013 If you have the surgery, there is no way that you wont lose weight. Wednesday will be my 1 year anniversary and I have lost all my extra weight, over a hundred pounds, I am at my goal weight (actually under), my BMI is in the normal category (After years and years of being obese) and most of my medical issues are either under control or totally gone (although I am still considered insulin resistant and have to take meds) Just do what your doctor and nutritionist tells you to do (dont cheat!!!!) and then get moving as soon as you can! Exercise! Start off slow and work your way up! You will surprise yourself what you can do! This morning I just finished my 5th 5K within a 2 week period of time! Before I couldnt jog for more than 15 seconds! Put your mind to doing well and dont give up on yourself! Set goals, small goals and do your best to meet those goals! You can do this! 1 raven123 reacted to this

CassieWNY 100 Posted September 7, 2013 I have a friend who has been sleeved and she had the same pre-op medical challenges that you described. She GAINED 6 lbs on the liver reduction diet pre-op. I am pleased to report it is just past a year and she is down 100 lbs.
TheNewSusie 471 Posted September 7, 2013 I'm insulin resistant and 14 months out today, I'm down 87 pounds with 13-15 to goal. I've cut down insulin from 60/ units daily of novolin N and R to 2-3 units of Novolin N every few days... My A1C is 6.9 and I'm happily healthy!! I've had some low sugars in the beginning, now I know how to maintain them. Good luck!
