I have eaten them a couple of times since surgery. I find them to be pretty gross now, since I have been trying to eat more "natural"/"real" foods since surgery. When I am in a pinch and have no choice but fast food, I usually go to Wendy's. A small chili or a grilled chicken sandwich (minus the bun) seem to be the lesser evil of the fast food choices.

How far out post-op are you?

In an ideal world, none.

But in the real world, in my mind, it's okay to have a treat every once in a while. I've had a fair share. But as a matter of daily practice breaded meat isn't a wise option for a high protein/low carb diet.

After watching a video of what is in chick nuggets....I will never eat one again. Deep fried foods are part of the reason I got overweight. No judgement though. Just sharing. I wish you perfect health! :-)

Within the context of your daily calorie/protein/fat/carb goals, it is fine for you to eat a fast food product like that. You just would not want to make that a staple of your diet. A good substitute for chicken mcnuggets are chic-fil-a's grilled nuggets. No breading, high in Protein, very tasty. Another good snack when having to choose fast food is Fazoli's meatballs. They are a little high in fat, but also high in protein. Don't beat yourself up, just try to stay within your goals and take it one day at a time.
