Chelsi 107 Posted September 5, 2013 so i went to support last night and was telling my fellow bariatric surgery people how i'm on the three week pre-op diet. i was talking about how sometimes i have to choke down a shake because i can't finish it. someone suggested drinking Isopure instead of a Protein Shake because it's "like gatorade". would this replace a meal? i don't know much about isopure so i'm curious to try it. i am going to email my NUT about it too. just curious! thanks! marfar7 1,533 Posted September 5, 2013 My nurse told me they tasted like Jolly Ranchers. So I invested over $50 in a case of them from GNC.com. They taste nasty. Worst thing I've ever put in my mouth. Hubby likened them to bad meat juice. Just buy 1 and taste it to see if u like it. You can get them at GNC or Vitamin Shoppe. They're expensive. 1 Taels2013 reacted to this
Cocopuff88 61 Posted September 5, 2013 It's a clear liquid Protein so you don't have the thickness of the shakes. It's 40g of Protein. Lots of flavors. I like the coconut. I second that, they are expensive and just buy one at a time 1 Mammecan reacted to this

Chelsi 107 Posted September 5, 2013 i bought two bottles. the apple melon and the blue raspberry, that's what everyone last night said were the best flavors. i heard the grape tastes like cough medicine. :\
endless80 697 Posted September 5, 2013 Did you like them?
Chelsi 107 Posted September 5, 2013 i just bought them. i already had Breakfast, i'm waiting until i'm hungry again to try one. but i will let you know!
janie2024 59 Posted September 5, 2013 I have the Isopure unflavored powder 30 grams of Protein that I mix with G2, put in applesauce and yogurt oatmeal anything im allowed to eat, I have vanilla that i mix with skim milk I will add a banana or a sugar free choc pudding. I like the powders much better and not near as costly.
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted September 5, 2013 Can you mix them with Water? I mixed them 50/50 with water, G2, or Hint essence water. Just on their own they are too hideous. Obviously you won't get quite the Protein bang for your buck if you dilute them, but I figured it's better than no protein at all.
On A Mission 3 Posted September 5, 2013 I bought one bottle to try, took once sip and dumped it out. But some people say they are good. So for sure buy just one to try first. Maybe it's an acquired taste, lol!
Chelsi 107 Posted September 5, 2013 i just tried the apple melon one and i didn't think it was that bad. i'll try the blue raspberry tomorrow. they're definitely pricey, but i didn't mind the one i had. so, that's good. it's nice to not have that creamy/milky consistency of the Protein Shake. i was getting sick of it! Cocopuff88 61 Posted September 5, 2013 Drinking the blue raspberry right now! I totally get the after taste comment. I hope I can stomach them after.
Chelsi 107 Posted September 5, 2013 yeah the after taste was sort of gross but it was the typical Protein aftertaste that I feel all the products have.
