What happens after the 3rd fill?

Recommended Posts

Hello friends..

How are you all doing today?

Hubby and I go for our 2nd fill next week. We are already at 5 cc's... I'm not sure what the TLBC gives for your 2nd and 3rd fill? Do they bring you up to the maximum capacity? What happens after your 3rd fill? After having 3 fills, should one get to goal weight? How long after your 3rd fill could you get another one??? I'm still confused about the fills..

I feel little restriction at this point. I know that we are supposed to wait and see after the 3rd one, but yesterday was the first day that I could EAT....I did EAT, I didn't feel full at all....??? Is this normal???

Thanks and have a good night.

Doriana.

Doriana....TLBC treats the subsequent fills (ie. after the first) on an individual basis....they will ask you questions...about how much you can eat, if you feel full, how much you've lost...tightness etc....they will decide from that. There is no actual "template"....it is very very unlikely you will get more than 2 ccs...they will MOST certainly NOT put you at capacity (migawd woman!!).

I don't know what you mean by "what happens after your 3rd fill".....you can have any number of fills (until you reach capacity or until you reach your sweet spot). Some will get to their sweet spot in 2 or 3 (or 0) fills....others may need 6 or 7 or whatever....tis different for everyone and depends on how slow you increase it etc (slower is better!).

The fills or the number of fills you have is not related to when you get to your goal weight.

"how long after your 3rd fill could you get another one"?....some won't eve need a 3rd fill (lucky buggers!). You can ask for another fill (whichever number that is) after you notice that despite doing everything "right" and following the "rules" you aren't losing (ON AVERAGE) 1-2 lbs per week...then discuss it and ask for a small fill to help you get to your "sweet spot".

Because you've only had one fill it is VERY normal to feel no to little restriction...so no worries. But remember, just cause you "can" eat doesn't mean you should always let yourself!!

Good luck with your second fill to both you and your hubby!! May this be the sweet spot for you both!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
