I had a great experience with my sleeve. Not much pain and thankfully no nausea. I just had a little incision pain and lots of gas. But today, I ran out of my liquid Vicodin and everything changed. My doctor doesn't want to refill it and wants me to just use Tylenol. It's not working at all. Had a horrible night sleep and just cannot get comfortable. Now besides incision pain I really think i do feel my actual stomach and the inside pain. I am taking gas x and walking everyday. Any suggestions?

How far out from surgery? Heating pads have been recommended here. Are you using liquid tylenol?

Are you getting up and around? I was done on the 27th and given 40 oxycodone and haven't even used half. I take Tylenol as needed (1-2 times a day) but I've been up and about since day 4 and at first it sucked but I think it's what helped with my pain. My only pain left is abdominal wall below my largest incision and its a 1/10, 99% of the time. I have also used a heating pad since the day I got home, it lived on me the first 48 hrs I was home and now as needed (note: don't fall asleep with it on I actually left marks, they faded but essentially I burnt myself)

If you continue to be in pain I would call back and demand an appt at this point you should definitely be turning a corner. Do you know how many doses you had? I'm just curious if you used too much too fast and they are resistant to fill because of that.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
