kris102007 0 Posted January 16, 2007 Okay so I am going for my first consult on Feb. 5th. It was suppose to be today but the doctor had emergency surgery so I got bumped. I am pretty bummed as I believe that I have made up my mind and I am ready to do this. I am so afriad that I am going to loose my courage soon if I do not get this process started. So from initial consult until actual day of surgery what is the normal waiting time frame. I have already talked with my insurance company and they cover the surgery 100%. So I do not think I should have any insurance hang ups. Anyone who could tell me what to expect from day one and on I would really appriciate it. I am just ready to start a whole new healthy life. juliegeraci 7 Posted January 16, 2007 When I initially met with my surgeon he told me all about the lapband vs. gastric bypass. He actually showed me what the band looked like. It was a great meeting. From there I had to make my psych eval and meet with a nutritionist. I also had to have some blood work run. Hope this helps. The process took about 6 weeks. Stephanee 0 Posted January 16, 2007 I know what it is like to be bumped up...my surgery date was set for Jan 4, but I wont be banded until Thursday. I started having self doubts but have found this LapBand Talk Community very helpful and encouraging! Just stay focused on the reasons why you are having this procedure and that should help keep you on track. If not, come back here, post, post and post some more! Please keep us updated!
