Does anyone have a tracker they like better than myfitnesspal? Why?

I like caloriecount.about.com

Free and personally I like the way that I can enter food. For almost every food there is serving, ounces, grams, tablespoons, calories, etc. And for foods like say "pretzel sticks" if the package says a serving is 48 of them, you can click (in cc) and change that to 10. Easy peasy.

There is also a free phone app that connects directly to my account so I can add foods from anywhere and there is a bar code scanner on the phone app to scan and enter a food that way. (Not ALL foods are there but a lot are.)

Also I've been using them since Jan. 2010 and I guess it's kind of like a grocery store the more you go the more you want to go back because you know where everything is.

I tried MFP a while back and wasn't a fan but I probably was too used to the way CC does things...

SparkPeople is quite good and it tracks a lot more vitamins/minerals.

I used to use it a few years ago and it worked very well for me.

I use the lose it app. I found it easy to use and love that I can scan barcodes to input the info. Also love I can input recipes and get total stats too. I can customize the nutrients I want to keep track of too. And see at a glance where I stand Protein wise.

I signed up for My Fitness Pal & deleted my account just a day or so later. It just didn't seem to fit how we're supposed to eat. I have "Lose It!" on my iPhone & will probably start using it again once I'm allowed to have more than SF Clear Liquids & Protein Shakes.< /p>

I have used sparkpeople in the past and really like it. I started using MFP a couple of weeks ago....the only thing I really like about it is that it has the barcode scanner, which sparkpeople does not. So far, there hasn't been anything I've scanned that hasn't been in their database. But, as I said, it's really the only thing that keeps me using it. I might have to check out the caloriecount and lose it apps to see if I like those better.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
