Hello!

I know we are all having surgery to be healthy and to improve our daily living. BUT, is there one person, who you can't wait to show the new you when you lose the weight? A person who made your life miserable because they teased you, or someone who would be super excited for you? I would have to say, I can't wait to show a former best friend. I wasn't asked to be in her wedding because of my size, and she mentioned to others how "big" I had gotten. I am excited for her to see all of my hard work, even if she doesn't feel bad about what she did/said. Any of you have that one person you can't wait to show?

Yes, I was at a family dinner and mentioned how my health isn't as good as it should be and it isn't easy to lose weight now a days...when my father in law pipped in for all to hear "Come with me and work in my attic and I will get that weight off you! Really?

I don't have anybody who did something like that......at least not to my face.

I like to say that we all probably have someone we want to see us with the weight gone. My biggest one was family members that and others that think they know everything......but basically I refocused to me, because after all, "it's all about me." LOL :P

That is not a friend, what a shallow person she is, I have recently been the chief bridesmaid at my bestfriends wedding, I was the largest bm but we all looked stunning and she did, nt ask me because of my size, she asked me cos she loves me whatever size I am, I would, nt waste your energy on her!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
