Happy to see a "Man Room"

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I'm pretty new here. Just wanted to say I'm glad to see an area that is centered around male-related issues. The information in here will be very helpful for me! Most of the weight loss forums/communities I've seen are mostly women for some reason.

Treasure our little corner of the room cause it's not much different here either.

Yeah I did notice that many of the man room threads are invaded by women. That's just how it goes. They can't avoid the temptation of putting their two cents in about.... pretty much everything. My girlfriend concurs with this assessment haha.

I do love orchids, but not in urinals... Not the proper nutrients for growth! My husband tells me one of my best attributes is I think like a man (mostly) and I've always enjoyed the company of men over women (again, mostly!)...

One of my favorite movie lines is Jack Nicholson in "As Good as it Gets" - a woman asks him how he can write about women so well and he replies, "I think of a man, then I take away reason and accountability". I'm sure I'll be hated on for this, but my God is that ever true 99%. Don't even get me started on driving.

Lol, ok I'm done with bashing my sex, enjoy your Mens Room and I'll keep my two cents to myself from here on out... Or at least I'll try really hard ;)

You can input your two cents anywhere on the forums you like, however, we do request that you respect that the men's room is for men only, and refrain from posting in here.

Thank you. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
