I can't wait until I can meet my old self again. Looks like I could be getting sleeved within 2 weeks. I got my approval Friday. Now I'm planning exercise regimens and Just thinking about how I am getting my health back, looking great and the self confidence I will have again. When you look great you feel great.

Thanks praying to Jesus to watch over me... I am so excited.. I'm at 250.... Goal weight is 130... Is it possible to loose that much weight off the sleeve? My Doc said 90.

The 90 comes from the 60% of excess weight loss that is the average amount lost by vsg patients. I am stil preop but I see many people here losing much more that just the average. My dr sets the first goal at the 60% number.

When you look great you feel great.

beauty

no truer words have been spoken :)

good for you on preparing yourself for the sleeve

as i was losing weight, my confidence did start to show, more and more each day :)

glad you got your insurance approval

thats a big step!!!!

continue to feel great with anticipation of surgery

you "might" feel a little nervous, anxious as surgery day is approaching

but thats ok , most of us have been there done that :)

its amazing how your life will begin to unravel, and you will feel great

remember to be patient with your expected weight loss

took you awhile to gain the weight

won't come off overnight

but follow all the rules............

and it will come off!!!!

good luck with WLS

speedy recovery

kathy

Good luck to you. It is possible to lose the amount you would like. However, everyone is different and lose at different rates. I have lost 88lbs in 14 weeks and would like to lose more. It is important to stick to the program given to you by your nutritionist and surgeon. You also should not give up when stalls happen, and trust me that will no matter what you do. Good luck to you on your journey.

Congrats! The amount you lose is really up to you and your determination. I am 15 weeks out and I've lost 60 pounds. Started at 244lbs. Best of luck!

Thanks for all of your words of encouragement. Hearing your testimonies excites me. I can't wait..no pre op diet. Trying not to do any food funerals. Instead I'm trying to change my bad eating habits. So excited. I should have a date by Friday.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
