smita 0 Posted January 16, 2007 Hello, I hope you can help me with this question. I was banded about 4 days ago and they told me liquid diet for the first 48 hours and then soft mushy food for about 4 weeks. I was just wondering if there is a calorie limit you should be on in the soft mushy food phase. Do I need to see a dietician about this. What did you all do to be successful on the lap band at this stage. Am I supposed to eat only three meals per day and what is the caloric limit? shutuplena 0 Posted January 16, 2007 You shouldn't be calorie counting right now. You just have to make sure you get your Proteins in and drink plenty of Water. Don't worry about the calories.
ogre 0 Posted January 16, 2007 You should be talking to your doctor/nutritionist smita. But lana is spot on..... for the first 2-3 weeks, you will need all the nutrition you can get and it may be hard to get it in. So focus on the Protein and Water. You won't be able to consume many calories anyway! GOOD LUCK!!!
conniesueb 1 Posted January 17, 2007 Good Protein sources right now would be eggs(if you can handle them,)cottage cheese, chili blended up to get the big chunks out, chicken salad, tuna salad(again, blended). You won't need to worry about the calories because your band won't let you eat very much right now! Wheetsin 714 Posted January 17, 2007 Healing first, then calories. You aren't healed yet. The only number I cared about at first was the carb count in my Protein shake, per my dietician's guidelines. The Protein had to be at least 20g protein per serving, and no more than 5g carbs.
