Nurse_B 270 Posted September 1, 2013 Hello! I haven't posted on here in awhile. I have been a busy little bee lately. Went in for my Physical Therapy and Nutrition meetings. Also had my EKG, Chest x-ray, pulmonary function testing, and labs done. Good news, I am only deficient in Vitamin B 12 at this time, so I can keep going with my Vitamin and now B-12. Only thing left to do is my Psych Eval. I don't know why, but I feel very anxious about it. I know my reasons for getting the surgery, and why I know this is going to be a success for me, but I almost feel like I have to convince the doctor I am worthy of his stamp of approval! I have ready many reasons for others not passing their Psych exams, and I just hope I am in a place where he feels I can go ahead with surgery. I have come too far to get stopped now! How was your experience with your Psych eval? Was it a good experience, or bad? Was there anything you wished you would have said/done differently?
MandyRN 11 Posted September 1, 2013 I too was very anxious I went for mine last week.... It started out with a personality and abstract quiz then a quiz on eating habits followed by 377 true false test on the computer..... After an hour of doing these tests I met with the psych for about thirty minutes and he went over my history with weight and eating habits and then talked about the surgery a little and ways to succeed ..... At the end he told me he didn't see a need to see me again prior to surgery but they would let me know for sure.... Really not bad at all.... Good luck! MIJourney 490 Posted September 2, 2013 Mine was pretty easy. A couple of pages of questions to fill out and then 20-30 mins with psychologist. She gave me the all clear before I left the room.
