I'm a Big Girl...

Recommended Posts

My highest weight was 405 lbs and I still have a ways to go before I hit goal, my current weight is 298 lbs... Buuuuuuuut..... I'm thinking about plastics and planning accordingly now.

I will definitely need tummy, thighs, arms, and breasts nipped and tucked. Maybe the double chin.

Anyone know how much can safely be done at once? I don't want to do too much at once but I don't want to live in a constant surgery/recovery state of mind.

Tummy, thighs, and arms are my biggest priority. They will be the ugliest and "I Can't Believe They're Not Mine" bras will pick up the slack for awhile.

All feedback, especially personal experiences, very welcome.

I may be a "medical tourist" again for this.

My bestie who had gastric bypass over ten years ago & has kept the weight off...had all of the surgeries you mentioned above, but separately...and arms hurt worse than one would think...she had to have her mother stay with her & help with the tubes, cleaning, etc...she has spent lots of money spread out over 10 plus years....and she has lots of scars. I would love to eventually have my arms done, but the scars would still keep me from wearing sleeveless.... I think the tummy is all I will do. Best of luck to you with it! Great job on the weight loss!

Hi AmandaRaeLeo,

I am 12 weeks out from my plastic surgery with Dr Victor Gutierrez in Tijuana Mexico. I had a Lower Body Lift, Butt Lift and Breast Lift.. He was concerned mostly about my health and having too many surgeries done at the same time. So I had to put off having my arms and thighs done. He is a gifted surgeon, and you can barely see my any of my scars. In fact even after this short time, I can barely see my breast scars. It was the best decision for me and my health and I am happy I had a wise doctor put my health above anything else. There is no way I could have handled anymore surgery than what I had. I know everyone is different, but for me I am very happy with my results and the surgeries that I have had and plan on going back next summer for my arms and tights.

Focus on being as healthy as you can throughout your weight loss, that way your body will be healthy and strong for plastic surgery.

Thank you for the feedback! I don't know which area(s) to focus on first!!!

Plus travel postop. I suspect it would be harder to travel after plastics than VSG.

Thank you for the feedback and the compliment. I will definitely put health over vanity.

But sheesh, my trouble spots are soooooo troublesome. Smh.... Patience. I must practice my patience.

Travel is not so bad either. The airlines provide wheelchair assistance. They wheel you to the gate, help you on the plane, put you back in the wheelchair when you arrive at your destination and wheel you the car.

Most people think the worst before their surgery, but then realize after the surgery is over with, it really was not so bad. My entire surgery experience was great!

No worries!!!! lol

When your time comes for PS you will see that everything be fine :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
