Ok, ranting here as an alternative to kicking my husband in his junk. I've busted my a** to lose almost FIFTY pounds so far, and he hasn't said a word without me asking for it (which is bad enough) but today he says "wow, did you see Snooki? She lost a ton of weight."

WTF?!? First of all, how does he even KNOW who Snooki is?!? And secondly, why does SHE rate a comment when the broad he married doesn't?

I love him, but sometimes he is truly clueless.

I feel a hissy fit coming on. And I can't even kill it with chocolate!

Hope the couch is comfy for him tonight!

A husband was watching TV, changing back and forth from a fishing channel to a "adult" channel. His wife comes into the room and sees he is watching the fishing channel. She suggests he watch the "adult" channel because he already knows how to fish!

I hope that broke out a smile.

Congratulations on losing and keeping with your program!

Well, lot's of things. He's pretty awesome, actually. But sometimes he's clueless. He's a dude. It's those times when I want to smack him in the head. Thankfully they are few & far between.

Grow up you big baby.

Ummm, it's a RANT. If you don't like it, get the F out. It's my thread. Start your own if you want to be pissy, and I'll stay off it.

Has discussing your weight been an issue in the past that maybe led to agreements? Just another possible perspective. It might be why he doesn't feel safe talking about it now, even if its positive. Way to go on the 50 pounds loss!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
