2 weeks post-op: I can see it in my face!

Recommended Posts

Had my 2-week post-op appointment today, and I'm feeling great! Still sore at my two major incision sites (man, I miss sleeping on my stomach!) but besides that, I'm taking multiple-mile walks a day and following the diet prescribed by my surgeon.

He was SUPER impressed with the fact that I've lost 5% of my BMI since the start of this process, woo hoo! I took a new photo of me (and my happy, I've-lost-34-lbs-since-July-26 smile) and loved how much my face has changed since the start of my pre-op diet.

Just wanted to share this small victory, and encourage everyone to follow their surgeon's plan, get plenty of exercise, and remember to stop and enjoy the little victories along the way!

Have a great Labor Day, everyone!

Congrats on your weight loss and your great victory and there will be more to come. I\m just two weeks post op too and I'm trying to get my energy level back up. I keep looking at my treadmill wondering if I can because I feel so exhausted just going to the supermarket and back. But I will not let that deter me, come Sunday, I''m hopping on. I won't know until I try....

Blessings,

Im about 2.5 weeks post op and I was so weak and tired I couldn't even think of getting on my treadmill, but I finally started this week. I can only stay on about 10 mins, but its getting better every day. Going for 15 mins next week!

You ladies can do it!! Everyone gets their energy back at different times, it seems. Even a small bit of exercise is better than nothing! Congrats to you both on your surgery, I know you'll be ready to rock some long walks in no time!

Good job Stace! I was just there (Zare's) on Wednesday. :)

He's a great doc!

Thanks, Laura! He's such a nice guy. He was like, "Look at you! You're glowing!" Haha! I've been really happy with him so far. :)

WOW, thank you SO much! What a sweet thing to say!! I think I'm far from an inspiration, but I am honored that you think of me as such! :)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
