I know everyone's pain tolerance is different. But I'm just curious when does the pain from incisions start going away! It's still early post op because I'm still in the hospital! It's only 3 days post op! So I'm just curious

I don't think my incisions ever bothered me. Quite honestly I didn't feel much pain throughout the entire process. (Shots and the IV was more painful than anything else) and I never touched the pain killer button they hooked me up to while in the hospital and never took any of the pain meds that were prescribed once I got home.

What I did feel was more of an overall soreness. My stomach felt sore, like as if I had just done 4million sit ups or crunches....I think I felt sore like that for about a week and a half post op.

Only one of my incisions hurt. The other 4 don't even feel like they are there. My one that hurts has already decreased in pain. When do you expect to be released?

You should feel soreness that area has just been through a lot of changes. Please make sure what you are feeling is pain and you are not getting it confused with the gas pressure. Most people think they should hurt so they mistakenly think the pressure is pain. Don't do too much, there is a stick inside of you (most don't know this). Take yor time you will have enough time to lose weight and shape up. Good luck to you and a speedy recovery.

I felt better after four days. Make sure to take advantage of the pain killers they give you. It helps you to get up and move around more which promotes healing. Good luck! :)

Oh this is a wild group tonight... The stick is the bougie, Ms. Salt, used to "size" the sleeve. But they take it out before they end the surgery,

And I had discomfort, no real pain, and the hospital drugs were superb!

I had incisional pain at one site (the drain site). It took about two weeks to go away. The NP at my surgeon's office told me that's completely normal and it varies for people in terms of whether they get incisional pain and how long it lasts. She said the longest she had ever seen it go on was 4 weeks.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
