Damn did I say that with my out loud voice?

Butter, it's ALL out loud now!

But none of that for you, you're doing fantastic & inches away from your TT (of which I am massively jealous, I might add)!!

Ok this may sound a bit self centered but I wasn't chubby my whole life so its nothing new here. I use to have fan clubs before I got married and popped out 3 beautiful kids. For me is more giving myself the attention I deserve.

Its funny what a pretty girl can talk a guy into doing lol.

I used to be hot when I was young. Of course I didn't appreciate it then. I got a lot of attention, then that tapered off when I started gaining weight in my early 20s. I think the last time I was hit on was when I was 21 (15 years ago). So I really don't know how to handle it anymore. Not to say that I'm hot now - nope, don't think that's gonna happen! But I just got back from Florida on vacation and I was hit on in a bar. It was so odd! I think if I hadn't been drinking quite a bit, I would have stammered and blushed. But I just thanked him for the compliment and told him I'm married. He was really nice about it and didn't go any further. It would annoy me if someone was pushy or touchy - I'm not sure how I would handle that.

Well buplee

Now that I'm officially hot....... I....

Oh **** :P who am I kidding! hot I'm not! :D

But should I get there? Well I will lap it up like a hungry kitty!! :D

Oh wait that's not right either....

Ummm.... when some men look or talk to me now I can feel the difference for sure.

I just walk on by like I don't care (because I don't)

I'm married.

:)

I imagine I would do the same. Not only am I married, but they wouldn't have thought to talk to me before so screw them when I look good.

What bothers me most is how overweight men and women get treated in the corporate world. I have noticed that thin, good-looking people don't have to produce a good work product to get noticed and promoted. People automatically think thin, good-looking people are smart, energetic, and have it all together and fat people are stupid, lazy and incompetent! There is definitely weight discrimination - too bad that's not a protected class! Ha/ha

I have to agree with this. I'm at a management level, and I had to do MUCH more to get here than some of my peers (and in fact was promoted by someone from another, less weight-conscious culture) but now that I have lost 50 lbs I've noticed that I'm getting some different responsibilities and recognition. It's frustrating that how one looks matters to that extent. My abilities haven't changed, just my pant size!

My former manager who was very overweight before losing 160lbs via wls experienced this while on an interview. The interviewer drew a big circle with arms and told him that his weight would keep him from being hired by him. The SVP told insulted him and said he could not never be taken seriously in management at his company. Which by the way was a Fortune 50 financial firm. My former boss sued and settled the case for $50K. That was a very expensive mistake by the interviewer, who had to go through sensitivity trainer as a condition of the settlement . I wonder how often that happens and goes unreported?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
