LaLa K 7 Posted August 30, 2013 I had my sleeve done about 10:00 this mirning. Came out of recovery feeling pretty good. Been walking the halls and following doc's orders then all of a sudden tonight I have pain in my chest. The nurses say it is gas but I can't even lay down! Trying to burp but that's not working.Any suggestions?
Macy6 356 Posted August 30, 2013 Hot pads helped me a lot. They gave me a warm blanket for my back and front. I had it too, it does ease up and it hasn't been too bad. Walking also helps 1 LaLa K reacted to this
MeDave 1 Posted August 30, 2013 Honestly, I experienced the same.... terrible gas pain that lasted the first 2 days. (was sleeved 3weeks ago). It really was awful. It was the first thing I was aware of coming out of the anesthesia and no amount of painkillers or burping would help it. It felt like something terribly wrong behind my solar plexus, a sharp, constant pressure.... and hurt my back in the same spot as well. On day 2 it started moving down a bit. The nurses and my surgeon reassured me that everything about it was normal and that it would pass. After an awful sleepless night on night two it did just that.... Once my digestive system started to 'wake up' it Cleared up totally by the third morning and I've been pain free ever since. Congrats on surgery and here's hoping the pain clears up quickly. 1 LaLa K reacted to this
