kgvega 0 Posted August 30, 2013 Okay maybe this is a stupid question but how is it that I don't get sick from eating cottage cheese, ricotta or yogurt but I get sick from drinking milk and eating cheese? Is it the fat?
Emily86 2 Posted August 30, 2013 It's possible that it's the fat. My doctor told me not to drink milk even fat free because of the fat. I can have yogurt and cottage cheese tho.
gamergirl 4,610 Posted August 30, 2013 It's the lactose. I'm the same way. If the milk has been fermented or treated, it reduces the lactose in it. I cannot touch milk without getting violently ill but I can do cottage cheese, yogurt etc with no trouble. I used to be able to eat ice cream and cheese in small quantities before. Take 1-2 lactaid and see if that helps with milk and cheese.
