The funniest remark (49 lbs. down) for me has been...what have you done to your face? I think she thought I had a facelift!! Said my face looked so sexy!! Hahahahaha!

I think it depends on where you lose the weight - Iost weight off my face and neck early on and people notice that. Your bottom half is something you probably notice more than other people do - really, how often do you stare at another woman's butt? Only if it's remarkable, I imagine - fantastic or has got a loooot bigger of late.

The other thing is that the first time you lost weight - particularly if it was after holding weight for a long time or even gaining steadily over the years - is something distinctive about you. I think. It's not so much the amount but a change in your usual "trend".

It also depends on what you are wearing.

People used to say how much they loved my hair, lol, for the first 40 pounds.I think people knew something was different and couldn't out their finger on it. I also think some knew but didn't know if they should say anything. (I didn't tell anyone I had surgery). After about 60 pounds someone said something every day. I recently went to a new job, and no one there knows I was ever so heavy, so I don't have to tell anyone the "secret to success" anymore, which I love! Honestly, the compliments are nice but it's nice not to have to discuss my weight on a daily basis with my co-workers.

I didn't hear anything from co-workers until I'd lost about 40 pounds and that was from just a few. It wasn't until I'd lost around 70 that I REALLY heard comments. :) I don't hear it as much now, which is okay too.

Because you started smaller going smaller the weight loss probably doesn't appear as drastic or as fast as the first time around. Obviously you have lost weight and are a size six! You'll probably be a zero by the end :D I had some comments around 3 months and then 4 months is when they really started noticing. I'm down 70 and can probably fit into a 16W but I haven't gone shopping LOL

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
