NewSetOfCurves 1,553 Posted September 1, 2013 What kinds of problems do you have with Water? I am one week left till my surgery and I am trying to prepare myself for the changes. I would also like to know if anyone could share a list of things I should go buy for my first two weeks post op. my surgeon days clear liquids 2 weeks. My SW is 204 Goal weight 130 My saving grace were the sugar free Popsicles and Jello. They went down the best and easiest. Water is harder to get down because of the density. I'm almost 11 weeks post op and it has improved tremendously (it goes down best when I'm drinking it during exercise; perhaps the movement helps it go down better) and I find cold water goes down better than room temperature water. I literally survived on Popsicles, Jello and Gatorade. As the swelling in my stomach went down and I could eat a little better, I then began to concentrate on Protein. My goal during "hell" week was to stay hydrated and not end up back in the hospital for dehydration. Full liquid phase, loved the cream of chicken Soup, broccoli n cheese Soup, sugar free pudding, my doctor allowed a scrambled egg (not dried or over cooked) with cheese during this phase. Hope this helps.
