I have not had plastics yet but have heard many good things about Dr. Monaco:

In all honestly since money will be a huge factor, when the time comes, I will probably go the resident program route with Baylor. There are many (I found some reviews on another forum) that have used them with good results.

I am having my plastics with Baylor this month and am not aware of a resident program. I LOVE my surgeon though and my mom also had a Tummy Tuck with him. Dr izadoost.

I've seen several people talk about it on OH plus know a friend of a friend that had breast work through the program. I've not heard any complaints to date and outside of Mexico this will probably be the only I can afford the work needed to resurrect my body. LOL.

Is it cheaper? How does the program work?

A nurse at my dr office had the leg surgery, Tummy Tuck and arm surgery. She said the worst was the legs and if given the choice she wouldn't do it again. I have a girl friend that did the lower body lift, she looks great but the scar is UGLY and goes almost all the way around her midsection. I'm just 11 days post op so for now I'm just thinking follow your diet plan and enjoy the weight loss journey but I know plastics might be something in my future. I wouldn't go cheap in this area, get the best.

From everything I have heard it is cheaper, not sure how much as I have not called personally. I'm waiting until I hit goal to start any inquiries.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
