Ok I'm almost 4 mths out I was really happy with my results. -69lbs. I was so happy and excited doung everything as I'm told. But for the last couple days I'm feeling bad like the old fat person I was. Miserable. Just looking at me makes me feel depressed. I'm not sure if this is just a mood swing or if I should see a professional. I notice the difference in my feelings wich makes it even more ackward to me. Will I always have these feelings no mater how smaller I get???

I bet it's your hormones. There are days when I get so annoyed/angry/irritated that I can sense I'm being unreasonable but just can't stop. Then I spend the next day apologizing to my hubby and kids for my touch of crazy.

I'd say, just go through the feelings and let them process. Sometimes the only way to get out of a funk is to just go through it.

Probably just having a moment. I think all humans go through times like this. You should be proud of what you have done.

Even after losing 98 pounds... I still sometimes look in the mirror and think I"m still that fat girl that weight 256 pounds 10 months ago... it's all part of the process and our minds catching up with our bodies. I agree with "indecision".... just let the feelings happen, it's all part of the process and just keep in mind this is a journey.

Thanks. Its really hard trying to explain it to some one who has no idea. People think that just because I'm looking great I feel great. Well that ain't the case. I hope its just a small bump on the road. Cause I miss feeling good aboit everything.

Hope you feel better tomorrow, sure it's just a bump in the road. Just remember that thin people have down days too :-))))

And on the days when you don't feel good about life, be kind to yourself. Don't let your inner critical voice beat you up or pull you down - do something nice like have a long soak in a bubble bath, buy a glossy magazine, paint your nails or do whatever makes you feel good.

Then remind yourself that this too shall pass.... Hang in there.....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
