angry 158 Posted August 28, 2013 I have not really had a pain problem post surgery but I have noticed that when I bend over I have a sharp pain on my right hand side. It is not excruciating, but it is enough to make me make a sound, and it does hurt. I know that the right side is where they take the stomach out and it can be more painful, and while this incision is painful when I stand up, or other odd times, this hurts more than it normally does, I almost feel like my stomach flips over when I bend over. I would just not bend over but that is pretty hard at this point. It does not feel better to crouch down because my whole big stomach scrunches into a large mass in front of me. Does this happen for a while in the beginning?
TwinsMama 483 Posted August 28, 2013 My pain on that side was due to a pulled muscle. My Dr told me how they actually take the stomach out and well, let's just say, after that visual, I understood why that side hurt. Try to take it easy and maybe use a heating pad or warm rag when you finally get to sit and relax. It will pass, mine took a couple weeks, but it finally went away.
