7 months out and falling off the wagon, help!

Recommended Posts

I have had a busy, wonderful, stressful summer that I let become an excuse for going beck to some bad coping behaviors. Of course the coping behaviors involved going some horrible eating habits. I had lost about 57 pounds and have gained back about 5. I am evaluating what I need to do to get back on track and this seemed a good place to start. Still love my sleeve and am so grateful for the weight I have lost but it is time to get myself going again, still have a long way to go to be where I want to be. Any advice or encouragement is welcome! I know there are lots of people that have had great success on this forum!

The best way to get back on track is to go back to the basics. Log everything you put in your mouth, make sure your getting at least 60 oz of Water, at least 70 g. Protein(better yet try to get 1 gram of Protein for every kg of body weight), and try to keep the carbs down as low as possible. Then of course make sure you are exercising and try to maintain a positive attitude. Good Luck.

i'm full of that!!! - (encouragement silly! )

Realizing you need to get back on board (accidental pun  )

telling yourself - and your fellow sleevers your situation

it took courage to do that - I see you are "full of it" too!!

as OP said, and will in the future - go back to basics

Protein shakes (gag, gag :( ) but you should start there

you'll get lots of necessary protein

track anything and everything you put in your mouth - even if its that one m&m

drink, drink, drink and then drink more

eat your healthy chicken, fish et al

portion control used to be my biggest weakness

measure your food - be accountable to yourself with MFP

i know, i know, you fell off the wagon (hope you didn't hurt yourself ;) )

you have been successful - good for you

you have such a pretty, smiling face - (its contagious!!!)

I can see B) it in your eyes how much you want this!!!

the determination, et al

many/most/all of us have slipped up a bit

but i see you are proudly standing!!!!

all set to go forward!!!!

good luck bud

kathy

congrats on your weight loss

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
