VSGJourneyGrandma 19 Posted August 27, 2013 I was sleeved on 7/5 - so, I am just a bit over 7 weeks out. I was doing just fine eating until last week. I am still mostly eating soft foods - but, trying little bites of new foods. I now on Saturday for the first time - vomited LOTS and had severe pain and gassy stomach after eating. I have moved back to eating the good old standard of oatmeal, cottage cheese and egg beaters. But, those don't even sit well with me anymore. I feel terrible after I eat or drink. Should I call my doctor?

Best of luck and it will get better.... 1 TwinsMama reacted to this

Ms.AntiBand 2,984 Posted August 27, 2013 You shouldn't vomit with the sleeve. It means something is wrong.. You're either eating too quickly or too much or something else is wrong. There's always a reason. 1 Daddysgirl10 reacted to this
Pookeyism 1,143 Posted August 27, 2013 Were you experiencing any sinus issues at the same time? Allergies?
VSGJourneyGrandma 19 Posted August 27, 2013 Were you experiencing any sinus issues at the same time? Allergies? I had terrible allergy problems last week when this started. What would that have to do with this?
Pookeyism 1,143 Posted August 27, 2013 It sounds like there is a good chance that you were exposed to something that inflammed your stomach eiher after you ate, during, or possibly before. It could be alot of things, more that the article lists. You probably do not even have to consume them. I had an allergist tell me that now that he has seen alot of patients with VST he is convinced there is much more of a correclation to environment and gastritis. He believes the allergies you are experiencing outside your body are reflected inside much more than the medical community widely recognizes at the moment. It is enhanced when we have such tiny stomachs and have had stomach surgery, to boot. Also, sinus drainange probably aids to hits to our immunity due to calorie readuction, stress of upcoming/post surgery, etc. http://www.buzzle.co...ach-lining.html everytime I have anything near that hit, it does, indeed, go hand-in hand with allergies. Alot of people find relief with Zantac. It has a antihistamine as an ingredient. I am sticking to benadryl. http://www.buzzle.co...flammation.html
lilbearzmom 584 Posted August 27, 2013 I was going to ask if you were eating slow enough. The times I have become nauseated and run to the bathroom (have not thrown up, just kind of heaved) it was because I ate too fast. My sleeve HATES that. But looking at the allergy thing- wow.
