Barix Clinic in Langhorne, PA

My wife was sleeved in september. Her recovery was 2 nights. She had a hernia repair otherwise it could have been next day. I did not stay with her and i did not see anyone else staying with them. She was really stoned while there, so she did not care if i stayed the night. The rooms were private.

This post is pretty old but I just got approved to have surgery here and I'm scared..I find barely any reviews on this place and my doctor is new to there and I have no information on him as to how long he has been doing this and etc..I need to call and ask to speak with him. But this place just looks deserted like no one goes there anymore lol maybe bc I was the last consult at 6pm but still... How did you guys surgery turn out here ???

I was seeing him because he is closet to my home but I'm going with the doctor that did my mom, sister and two girlfriends surgery. Dr Meilahn at chestnuthill hospital. They are awesome there.

Did you have any issues with him? I already did all my medical clearances and it was submitted to my insurance so I guess it's too late to switch. But I can't get surgery now unless my sugar levels get below 8. :(

I didn't feel as comfortable with him. I felt that he rushed a lot and they didn't give me enough info. Plus if there was any emergency i wanted to be at a hospital.

Oh ok. Yeah I kind of felt the same but I had a list of questions and he stopped and answered all my questions. It was like 6pm though and I was the last patient lol.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
