Dizziness 10 months out

Recommended Posts

I noticed that I get dizzy from time to time especially if I'm standing for a long time. Wonder if its dehydration or something else.

I find I get dizzy when I stand up from sitting, pretty much every time. My BP is good, so I'm not sure what the deal is. I'm going to bring it up at my 9 month follow up this week. I'm guessing it has to do with low carb/low sugar levels? I'll let you know what my Dr. says about it.

There are many reasons a person could be dizzy frequently. Some of these reasons are serious. Make sure you are getting your fluids in if you suspect dehydration and see your PCP to pinpoint the cause. We can't/shouldn't diagnose this.

Sorry, I should have said I suspect "my" dizziness is from low carb/low sugar.

Mine is not from dehydration. I drink over 100 oz of Water a day. I'll be meeting with my Dr. on Thursday. I didn't mean to come across as diagnosing anything. I'm a programmer, not a medical professional. :)

I would check your Blood pressure. Even if it is good, have them take it while sitting, then stand up and have them take it again. I play the trumpet, and was having issues with getting dizzy while I played. My doctor ended up taking me off my blood pressure medication, because it was dropping too low when I stood up, and when I was playing. It is now perfect at all times.

I've been experiencing dizziness when I sing now. I'm definitely going to talk to my doctor. Hope things get better for you!

The dehydration came from the OP's post. The rest of my comment was directed to the OP, too.

Decided to start tracking my food. I think it maybe the Iron supplements.

Haven't taken Iron in 5 days and feel fine. So that was it. I'll try to add it back with a slow release version.

I also experience dizziness when I get down on the floor then get up or gardening in the yard. My blood pressure is good also.. I feel like I get enough Fluid. I am seeing the doctor next week so this is a good reminder to check on it.

Your bp drops when you stand up. Try taking it sitting and then standing. This happened to me and I was taken off bp meds. My doc said any number under 110 (on top) is getting in the low range and will cause these symptoms

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
