Brighteyes 237 Posted August 26, 2013 So today I have my final appointment with my NUT and the psychological eval. Next Tuesday I have my final PCP appointment and support group meeting requirement. At that point I will have met all my pre-surgical requirements and my paperwork will be submitted to my insurance company for approval. I keep having these moments of panic. The "oh crap what am in doing" which is just has bad as "oh crap look at what I did to myself." Going to see my therapist later this week. Just feeling overwhelmed. 1 sandcreeksleevr reacted to this
kathp 81 Posted August 26, 2013 These moments of panic are normal. There are very few of us who don't have them (and I'm not one of them). It wasn't overnight we got this way, and it won't be overnight we get thinner and healthier. Having a good therapist is huge. (I see mine tonight!) My nurse-case manager told me if I didn't have the panic she'd worry about me. It's your mind's acknowledgment that it's a huge step. Don't be surprised when that "oh crap, what did I do to myself" happens again post-op... 1 heatonsgal reacted to this
ncsumara 3 Posted August 27, 2013 This is the first day that felt sheer panic, and anxiety. Surgery now is 1 week away. I know that this is what I need to do, throughout this six month process, I knew I could wait, jump through insurance hoops and now I have butterflies, big ones in my gut.
