tomorrow is the big day, getting nervous!

Recommended Posts

Wow, I have so many mixed emotions about tomorrow.I can't believe this day is finally here. I did horrible on my pre op diet. I didn't lose any weight, my own fault of course. A close friend of mine recently was sleeved on July 8th and had a leak. She was in the hospital for 20 days, released for 2 days and back in again. She had to have 2 stents placed to block the hole. But our doctors, body, healing and everything else is different. My family keeps asking me why I'm still going to get this done after she's had so many problems. I'm excited for it. My life will be cut short if I don't have this surgery. That feeling when your back is up against a wall. I've never been under anaesthesia before so that's making me a little nervous, I've only had local and had a bad reaction with it. Had 2 epidurals and projectile vomited with both so I'll make them aware of that tomorrow. I know the end will justify the means, I just have to get my head straight again.

I am feeling the same way. I have heard of people having leaks and other complications and it does make me wonder if I am doing the right thing. But, I think positive all the time and vision myself out of the hospital safely at home and adjusting to my new nutritional lifestyle changes. Concentrating on journaling what I eat and when I exercise. I know if I don't do something now I will continue to pack on the pounds till I can not longer control myself or worse become home-bound. I have to say my hubby is really not to supportive in my decision for this surgery as he is afraid of the worse. Life is about taking chances and you take a chance every time you get behind the wheel of a car. As nervous as I am myself, I will be doing my surgery on the 25th of September. Good Luck to everyone ;)

I am tomorrow too, unfortunately, mine is at 2:00 on the afternoon. I am hoping they call to move me up. I am very very nervous. I am also a bit weepy but I am on clear liquid diets today, so I think it could be that. Good luck! I hope we both have a speedy easy recovery!

I am also on the clear liquid diet but I have old fashioned oats and low-fat milk that I made runny with Stevia, cinnamon, and nutmeg. That was one of the things on my list that was allowed and actually had weight to it. Also I bought healthy request Tomato that I will have for dinner. Thank you everyone for your support. I'm so thankful for this forum. We can all come here and ask questions, vent, show our progress, laugh, cry and everything in between. Good luck to all <3

It went very well! I'm in pain at the incision site and I'm nauseous , minimal gas pain in my chest. I'll be going home tomorrow. I can't believe it's done and over with already.

Do they give u Zofran for nausea or anything? I have an ear patch and had 80mg of Emed for nausea before surgery and every 4hours Zofran and I haven't been nauseous yet.

Yes they've been giving me so grab only when I ask for it tho. They have me on dilaudid pump, that's what's making me nauseous. Just passed my swallow test too

Ick! I can't take Dilaudid because it makes me throw up for hours. I'm most afraid of the pain meds than the actual surgery or pain. I'm hoping they'll ask me before administering any pain meds. I'd rather deal with pain rather than pain + vomit.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
