marienicole 2 Posted August 25, 2013 I cant believe i would feel like this, 6 days post op. No pain and no nausea which is a plus. But i cannot get all my fluids or my Proteins in. I get about 40oz of Fluid and about 30g of proteint in. So frustrated from feeling full all the time. Everything i eat/drink feels like a brick in my stomach. Tryin to choke down these shakes seem to be emotionally draining for me, I cant imagine doing this everyday, when will it get better??? Any ideas on how to get in more fluids without feeling like I'm gonna pop.
SuzyB 182 Posted August 25, 2013 Change the tempature of drinks. Many have said that helps them. And be patient, you are still newly sleeved. 1 ProudGrammy reacted to this
Moro Rock 18 Posted August 25, 2013 Yes! Hang in there! I am 11 days post op and have just started doing better at getting in at least 60g Liquid Protein and about the same amount of Water. But I can only stand to drink both if they are ice cold. Otherwise, forget it. I am seriously looking forward to eating puréed foods! I just keep telling myself that it took time to get here, so naturally it's taking time to reverse the course. Then I take a sip of water

lsereno 2,525 Posted August 25, 2013 Use a timer or watch the clock. Try to get at least an ounce every 15 minutes while you are awake. Either Protein shake or other Fluid. I used a shot glass as my glass and a liquid measuring cup as a little pitcher. If Water is hard, try herbal tea or flavored waters. Lynda
gamergirl 4,610 Posted August 25, 2013 I agree with being patient, sipping all the time, and changing the temperature. My husband could do cold things easily. I on the other hand could drink hot Soups super quick and struggled with the cold shakes so worth trying different tastes and temperatures.
