MandaPanda 173 Posted August 25, 2013 Curious?!... does anyone regret getting the sleeve or any other wls.. If so why? also has anyone had any complications after having the gastric sleeve surgery? No. regrets here. I am 25 days out from surgery. I feel great and am so happy. I wish I would have done this years ago. I have lost 21 pounds. I am finally confident that I will lose this weight and my addiction to food is gone! 2 TxCalico and stamour1 reacted to this

JSCRIMPSHIRE 56 Posted August 25, 2013 how did u get over your food addiction having a hard time. I made up my mind before surgery that this was a complete life changer for me. Not saying that I have had weaknesses but after surgery- and after my two week liquid only diet- I didn't WANT to eat bad things anymore. Still don't- almost 9 weeks out. 1 TxCalico reacted to this

Tawnie 99 Posted August 25, 2013 No regrets. No complications. Only regret was not trying to understand why I eat. I am now but should have sooner. Surgery did not make my desire to TURN to food less. It makes me consume less makes me try to determine what is making me run to the fridge (thank goodness o ly sugar free Popsicles are there). Date nite seems like a challenge some days.....but I eat so little hubby gets his faves all the time...bonus for him. . Down to 170. 15lbs from goal. Would have surgery again tomorrow 3 Sydney Susan, TxCalico and raven123 reacted to this

MandaPanda 173 Posted August 25, 2013 how did u get over your food addiction having a hard time. I still think about food but since I can't eat more than 3 bites, it's not an obsession like it once was. I feel too full when I eat food so it's not that attractive to me anymore. I'm actually a bit disgusted at watching other people eat. 1 TxCalico reacted to this
Sydney Susan 333 Posted August 25, 2013 If you want to search "regrets" and "complications" you'll find plenty here. It's good to be informed that the procedure is not without it's risks, though that tells you nothing about how your particular surgery will go. It's most important to realise that the sleeve is no cure-all; people call it a "tool" for a reason, not to be annoying. Just like a great set of tools won't turn any old bloke (or gal) into a fine carpenter, a sleeve alone won't solve all your weight issues for all time. I don't regret my sleeve for a second (nearly 4 months out) but I'm realising more than ever how much I've got to learn and master about me and my relationship with food. The more posts I read by long termers, the more I realise my experience is a common one. Probably even the "normal" one. 4 TxCalico, Catherine707, sleevie.wonder and 1 other reacted to this
sadfat1962 11 Posted August 25, 2013 Total regret here. Living with this dark cloud above me has made my life hell. I shouldn't of had the surgery having any doubts of wanting to go through with it. Too late. It's done. Trying my best to move on. I pray everyday I can move past all this. God Bless. 1 Christina.v reacted to this

I am so sorry to hear you are having regrets. I have heard some depression is to be expected after the surgery, so hopefully your regrets will be temporary and you will soon be feeling better about your decision. Hang in there!! Brighter days (and more food choices) are just around the corner. 1 TxCalico reacted to this
