I think the best I have had so far was the syntax nectar Cappuccino and chocolate truffle, they have a variety pack I would suggest but it really differs from person to person. I bought it because a lot of people liked their different flavors like apple and lemonade, but I find that chocolate masks the Protein flavor best to me and I hated most of the fruity ones, (I added iced tea crystal light to the iced tea one and it was much better). I have a few Protein Shake deals and freebies on my blog if you are looking for some one stop shopping. I also just ordered from chike because I have heard good things and have yet to find one I love. I will tell you I hate all of the powders from GNC they are way to thick in my opinion and make me want to puke. I think the pre-made ones are better but I still hate them because although they are 25 g of protein, they are 14 oz and I usually only make my Protein Shakes 8 oz, aint nobody got time to be drinking one protein shake all day!

I've tried quite a few and decided that unjury chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla are good - not like an ice cream shake but the nutritional numbers work. costco sells Premier Protein chocolate that is also acceptable.

FYI - should purchase UNJury's sample kit = has the flavors, chicken Soup, and unflavored which is great for mixing with Crystal Lite, broths, and your favorites that need more Protein.

However, like the man said after he kissed the cow, it's all a matter of taste.

I second Syntax chocolate Truffle. I add PB2 and it tastes like a Peanut Butter cup. I also like the Syntax vanilla mixed with fruit like peaches or banana.< /p>

I've tried the Unjury chocolate splendor and chicken soup, they are both really good...at least I think they are! Susan

I ended up liking Celebrate -ENS the best.

For me, it's consistency. I've had a few powders that tasted good, but they were too thin/watery for me - even with milk. The only one I've had that fits the bill for taste and has a thicker "shake like' consistency is Chike.

Chike is good..I keep a stock of vanilla, choc, and strawberry, and they have a new iced coffe that is terrific...I mix the iced coffee powder with my leftover morninf coffee for a great flavor, and pour it over ice on these hot afternoons! I also use my leftover coffee and put vanilla powder in it o make a "latte" flavor. Chike will send you samples, too..google them and call..very helpful

I like the Premier Protein drinks.....but they are premade, and are not thick.....besides a huge case at costco, you can pick up a 4 pack at walgreens to try them out......I was told Walmart also had them.

I can't honestly answer this never having tasted the unflavored by itself, say in Water. However, I can attest to mixing it with other liquids does mask any trace of flavor - but a subtle change may be detected in the host liquid depending on it's being hot (140 F or less) or cold (better).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
