A completely unnecessary bit of whining

Gamer girl' date=' while I'm sure your home cooked Indian food is amazing, I found a lot of the trader joes Indian frozen Entrees to taste like good restaurant quality. My family also loves the turkey meatballs and teriyaki chicken. Last night they steamed TJ frozen tamales. Omg they looked good. I'm on day 12 of pre op and surgery Monday. I need to stop talking about food...haha[/quote']

That's definitely something I want to try then! My dad is 90 years old. He eats very little. He'd be happy with a frozen entree.

Monday is almost here! Are you excited??

I am so excited and so ready!!!!

I bet! We're really lucky to live in a time and place where this is possible aren't we? I hope we never lose sight of that.

I combine trips to my surgeon and Trader Joe's they are both 120 miles away and 2.5 hours each way (it is a very long and curvy road)! I don't buy anywhere near as much as I did prior to surgery, but there are still healthy, Protein rich foods you can get at Trader Joe's. I miss not having one 5 minutes away!

I feel very grateful to have been given this second chance. And good luck on your Monday surgery. I'm 18 days post op today and feeling pretty good. I am also one of those people who has family that I have to cook for but I figured out that if I cook stuff I don't like then it's not so bad. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) for my husband everything he's eaten for the past two weeks, including Breakfast, has had onions and green peppers in it.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
