Am I eating too much?!! Help!

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I am 4 weeks post-op and in the pureed food stage. Because I am a college student, pureed is a little difficult because we don't have blenders in the cafeteria. So I just chew my food really really well or use a baby food mill.

Anyway, I feel like I am eating too much. At this stage I thought I was only supposed to be eating 1/4 of a cup, well let me tell you I am eating like 3/4 - 1 cup. And I never feel full!! I feel like I could eat everyone elses dinner on top of mine!

I have not had a fill yet, that is in two weeks, so is this normal? I read on the "fill" thread that people were eating whole pieces of pizza, and all kinds of other foods on the day before their fill. Am I hurting my pouch or stretching it??

Please help!

:help:

What you are experiencing is normal. You don't have any saline in your band and that is why you can eat almost anything. I would think a fill or 2 would help you. My doctor filled me at 6 weeks. You should be able to get a fill soon. Good luck.

Why not take into school with you those little packs of tuna steaks. The albacore ones come in 3oz packs and they are perfect for eating with the band. I am sure you can find a packet of mayonaise or something if you need it but those are flavored and you really don't need it.

it would probably cost about the same as a cafeteria lunch as well.

At my college, there is a place that serves Starbuck's coffee and has muffins and stuff. They also have smoothies. They have a couple that are lower in calories that are WONDERFUL. They add a scoop of Protein if you want as well. It costs 4 bucks, but is a meal that tastes terrific. Unfortunately I discovered it just a couple of weeks before the last semester ended and my classes are on weekends this semester. :-(

See if your school has anything like that.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
