Living4Me 51 Posted August 23, 2013 Seeking some advice..... I am nine days post-op and I am still learning the signals my new stomach is sending me. I've been healing really well and the past three days my energy level is better than normal. I've been getting my Protein in via shakes while I'm on full liquids and tried a new brand of Protein powder today. Since then I have been insanely nauseous (reminds me of nausea during the early stages of pregnancy). Has anyone else experienced this? Would this just be due to the brand change? juswant2bhealthy 33 Posted August 23, 2013 I'm 23 days post op most of the Protein Shakes I drunk before surgery I can't drink them now so I'm making my on with Protein Powder, half a banana and 1 or 2 pieces of watermelon with 1% milk. I blend it all together this is the only way I can drink a shake now. Also I can't drink strawberry shakes they really hurt but vanilla I drink it with no problem. 1 TwinsMama reacted to this
TwinsMama 483 Posted August 23, 2013 I haven't been able to do Protein Shakes at all since I had surgery (10 weeks). My suggestion would be to watch for anything with milk (whey products especially). You may have a tolerance to the new shakes or you may need to switch up the flavor.
Living4Me 51 Posted August 23, 2013 Thank you both, your answers really helped. I did not even consider the whey issue, I bet that is it.
Beach Lover 1,084 Posted August 23, 2013 Have you tried Premier Protein shakes? They sell them as Sam's and costco. Sam's is cheaper by about $6. These have 30g of Protein and quite good. It is the only one I really ever drink anymore and a lot of people have had success with them. good luck to you!
Kennedy 100 Posted August 24, 2013 I like the Premier Protein chocolate. I was using EAS chocolate fudge. It was tasty but only had 17 grams. Would have to drink a lot of them to get Protein n. just couldn't do t. 1 Living4Me reacted to this
