October Sleevers - Who else

Recommended Posts

Make that 33 pounds had a big jump over night 3 pounds Sent from my iPad using VST

Great job- I'm doing the same thing... Not sure how' date=' but I'm losing ~2lbs every 12hours... I'm at a 30lb weight loss as well now (since July)! Funny thing is I don't really see or know where it's coming from... Maybe my belly and legs look a little thinner? I'm still wearing sweats around the house (haven't graduated to jeans yet as I've been feeling lousy), so I can't really tell the difference in the mirror... But I suppose the scale doesn't lie!

Way to go!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL HAVING SURGERY THIS WEEK!

I was done. 3 weeks ago.

I lost 40 before surgery, 12 since. Stalled a little this week. 1/2 lb since the weekend?

The b***h of it is..... No one notices the first 50 pounds.

I barely noticed the first 40.

But as soon as I hit 50 pounds EVERYONE is telling me how great I look.

I had a very successful sleeve. Yesterday . Dr. Price also found a hiatal hernia and repaired it. So far no nausea and the pain is manageable. Had broth and a Popsicle for lunch. I. Walks twice this morning and will get ready to walk some more. Glad tone on the loser's bench!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
