Hello fellow sleevers! Just wanted to know if it was normal for nothing to make me sick...I mean I haven't gone as far as eating a double cheeseburger from McDonalds but nothing I've tried makes me sick...almost as if I didn't have the sleeve

It is ok. The only thing that makes me sick is rice and Pasta. My hubby had the bypass and he can eat anything...he just chooses to skip the carbs. I wish I did get sick from other things...it would be a lot easier to skip them. I don't make a habit of it, but...a little treat here and there won't hurt down the road a bit.

I'm 5 1/2 weeks out and haven't tried tough meats, bread, rice, or Pasta yet but so far the only thing that has made me sick is ice cream. What a bummer. not sure I want to go on...

Following my lapband 4 yrs ago I could eat ANYTHING. Most people with bands can't eat bread, rice, or Pasta. I could easily. I'm guessing it'll be that way with the sleeve also. It's easier to live in this world of ours not getting sick from certain foods.

Until I started having gallbladder issues, and now after, I can eat anything I want. Nothing has made me sick and I have not thrown up once. I eat primarily Proteins with a few bites of veggies and such, but all of the things I read about that people have issues with like raw veggies, bread, sugary foods, etc. have not been a problem for me. I feel very lucky.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
