I am 4 days post op and having horrible pain to my largest incision. I can barely walk around my house must less exercise. I'm so frustrated. I'm also having a hard time getting my Protein and fluids in. The last 2 days I've barely gotten in 20oz of Fluid. Regret is the word for the day. :( Just needed to vent I think.

I'm sorry you're so miserable. Day 4 was the worst day for me too. Not so much the pain but just miserable. Cried all day and told my husband I had ade a mistake. The biggest incision does hurt the most. I promise, it does get better. I am 15 days out and feel so much better. Think I started turning the corner about day 6. Just hold on.

The pain is a very distant memory for me but I do remember that it was very bad that first week. It got better daily. Take the pain meds, that is what they are for. After the first month you will be truly on your way. Best of luck to you.

Hi, I'm 4 days post-op. my blood pressure finally got back to a normal range for me - praise God. I've had a chronic headache since surgery, but a heating pad and Benadryl have helped me.

I'm sipping Water, and have managed to get my Protein in by drinking premier Protein drinks from costco or SAMs - each drink delivers 30 grams of Protein, low sugar and has 4 grams of Fiber. Also, supplementing my H20 with the grape flavored Isopure zero carb, 40 grams of protein. The Isopure looks like Gatorade, but has the protein I need. Each bottle contains 160 calories.

So I have 2 Protein Drinks 60 grams of protein

And 1 isopure 40 grams of protein

Any other protein is from milk in Soup.

Hang in there. I think this week has been heck for me! Each day we will feel better. I truly believe that,

I feel your pain and could have written your post. Regret has been the word of the day for a few days now. I keep reminding myself of all the posts where people say, "don't worry, I regretted it too, it will pass, you will feel good again." But I am still so miserable, depressed, and anxious.

Thank you for posting this. I am trying to stay positive, but its nice to know I'm not alone.

The larget incison can hurt really bad - one of the stitches they put it was tacked a bit too high for me so once I ot up the weight pulled on it...ouch!!!! It fades!

Set your phone or an alarm to go off in 20 min increments and drink a half ounce of Water each time. A goal like that helps.

EDIT: IF you can drink that fast...dont push it. set the time/volume to your pace.

Hope everyone makes a speedy recovery and were all happy made the decision in the next few days :-)

My back hurts due to sleeping on couch and recliner but early this am I went to my bed n tried to sleep on my tummy and it was a success. Best sleep ever! I know everyone says it but each day gets better. You may run into a bad day buy just remember the next will be better

Please hang tough, the first few days were really rough for me... Like everyone is saying, it gets better each day! Try your best to stay hydrated the first few days post op. I'm 10 days out and feeling stronger everyday, don't get me wrong there were times I thought I regretted it too but I keep reminding myself : "I don't need easy, I just need possible "..... Keep ur chin up, praying for u!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
