Something To Ponder

Recommended Posts

Since being banded, I have concentrated on learning to recognize being satisfied, as opposed to being stuffed. This is a big behavioral change for me. The band has helped me learn this difference, and it has made a big difference. At the very beginning, I did keep track of food intake on fitday.com, just to re-learn portion size, and begin to learn healthy eating habits (again).

I decided I did not want to pursue any more pills, crazy eating plans, etc., after being banded, and wanted to eat like a "normal person". I know normal people eat Cookies. I do, too. I just don't eat the whole box!

I am accepting that weight loss is sometimes slow, and sometimes takes a break, and I learn to be patient. These are the big hidden benefits of the band, in my mind.

Nice discussion...thanks for starting it!

In nutrition, the diet is the sum of food consumed by a person or other organism. Dietary habits are the habitual decisions an individual or culture makes when choosing what foods to eat. Although humans are omnivores, each culture holds some food preferences and some food taboos. Individual dietary choices may be more or less healthy. Proper nutrition requires vitamins, minerals, and fuel in the form of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Dietary habits play a significant role in the health and mortality of all humans. Dietary choices can also define cultures and play a role in religion.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
