September 23rd for me, in Overland Park, KS. Seems like everything is happening so fast. I get a little nervous if I spend time and start thinking about it. I have 4 kids so that is constantly on my mind (what if I am the 1%). I try not to think that way though, try to stay more positive. All in all the wife is being really supportive and looking forward to the new me!!!

Congratulations! My surgery is on the 11th. It's great to have wives that support our decision and I am thankful that mine also supports me. Good luck.

Hi September sleevers! Good luck to all of you! My date is September 9th in TJ and to be honest I'm starting to panic a little. Anyone else relate to this? Would love some encouragement right about now :)

Just remember how you got to this point, change is scary, but it's a good thing. It'll be worth it in the end. :)

Since I just got my surgery date yesterday I wasn't nervous before...too hyper focused on getting the approval. I had a twinge of fear /anxiety last night then just told myself to remember all the increased risks and shorter lifespan associated with being overweight that I learned about in the info session and it helped put it back in perspective.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
