eenswm 1 Posted August 22, 2013 Do your Protein Shakes count toward your liquid consumption? I'm day-4 post-op and struggling to get 64 oz of Fluid in plus 60 grams of Protein.< /p>
NMJG 1,266 Posted August 22, 2013 No it doesn't. It is hard but it gets better.
Kaj 88 Posted August 22, 2013 My plan does count the Protein shakes...different Drs do different things. I suggest you call your nutritionist to know for sure. 1 MIJourney reacted to this
notime 340 Posted August 22, 2013 Mine count, too. There are lots of foods that my doctor considers both Protein and fluids.
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted August 22, 2013 yep, mine counts them too. The point of tracking fluids is to keep you from getting dehydrated, and Protein Shakes do just fine at hydrating you, so no reason not to count them.
GoSkinny 16 Posted August 23, 2013 Yes, my Protein Shakes were also included in the daily 64 oz of fluids. I'm a little over 3 weeks post-op and it was hard to get all them fluids in. I focused more on the Protein shakes and Water. It will definitely get better! Hang in there and sip, sip, sip
tigerbelle 328 Posted August 23, 2013 add me to the ones whose plans count Protein Shakes as liquids...also, my dr told me not to worry much about reaching the Protein and liquid goals the first couple of weeks...I was only getting in about 40 to 50 ounces of liquids and 40 or 50 g of protein, and he was ok with that
Sleeved in Seattle 280 Posted August 23, 2013 No, sadly! But I never felt hungry.
brittanykins 22 Posted August 31, 2013 My Protein Shakes (or soups) do not count towards my 60oz of Water I'm supposed to be getting daily. Just found this out at my post-op appointment yesterday. It was too much before, now I'm really struggling.
