To get all 70g of Protein from food alone! I've been on puréed since Tuesday and my nut told me I could still use the Protein shakes, drinks etc. to make sure I was meeting my goal daily!!! I don't feel like eating that much food yet, and as hot as its been here lately, I'm glad I can use the Isopure drinks instead of a shake all the time (shakes :P)

I can empathize. I am getting them on full liquids just fine but pretty soon we start on solids and I really wonder how people eat enough to get them in. I get full on 4 oz of shakes!

Today is my first day on purees, and I have the same concern. I'm taking it slowly today, just a bit of cottage cheese and then sticking with my liquids. I'm going to ease into the purees, and make sure I can work everything in.

It's tricky - get plenty of liquids but no drinking 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after meals (my doc's recommendation); make sure the Vitamin with Iron isn't taken within two hours of milk products; take two Calcium citrate two hours apart but not within two hours of morning or evening Vitamin with Iron, etc.

There's some juggling here I need to get used to! :)

I think I'll probably be on one shake or Isopure a day for the rest of my life. That easily adds 35-40g Protein. Then coming up with 25-30 more isn't too bad, right?!? I'm looking forward to puréed food, but nervous at the same time. Oh and by puréed I don't mean puréed chicken, bleh!

Yes, I remember my first bite of puréed food was mashed potatoes with extra gravy. It was divine! I lived off Popeyes mashed potatoes with extra gravy & their red Beans (no rice) for almost two weeks.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
