jmonique78 54 Posted August 22, 2013 Hi everyone. My family received some news on Monday that my son was diagnosed Autistic. He is only 17.5 months old. I am even more driven to have my surgery on the 10th because it means I will be the best version of me for him. I usually wouldn't post this here but I am doing a walk for my son if anyone wants to join my team or donate. Thanks everyone its seriously a trying time. http://www.walknowforautismspeaks.org/centralvalley/jmonique78 2 T.Spears and gmanbat reacted to this
ScottsGirl 106 Posted August 22, 2013 I work with autistic kids and let me tell you, it's going to be a struggle at times, but SO WORTH IT! I love my students and am glad to learn so much from them; sometimes they teach me! I wish you all the best! 1 gmanbat reacted to this
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted August 22, 2013 I was a teacher for autistic children as well and you are in for the ride of your life! This journey will be the hardest you've ever traveled, but the most rewarding also. Ask for support, look for the little victories and nap when you can. The above advice is for you as a mommy AND as someone who has had WLS.
