i am 12 weeks out. I'm working on being able to do a 5k and today was my first day on the treadmill being able to do that. I try to do the treadmill 3 - 5 times a week plus i strap on the heart rate monitor when doing lawn work (I've burned >600 cals just doing the front or the back).

I was sleeved 6/6/13 & was 230. I'm now 11 weeks post op & I'm down to 193. 37 lbs lost. I do 30 mins minimum on the treadmill or elliptical. If treadmill I do 1 minute sprints every 4 minutes. If doing the elliptical the resistance & climb go up & down for 4 minute intervals each. Then I do strength training. Abs, arms & legs for about 30 mins. I do this 5 days a week. I'm freaking out seeing people who have gotten to a goal of 100 lbs lost in six months. I don't see myself getting to goal in six months. My suggested BMI is 125 lbs. It took me two weeks to get from 194 to 193! Don't know how they're doing it. If you find out let me know...

Here's a similar link that was started recently that may be a good resource as well....

I am about 21 months post op and my routine is in that link towards the end I think.

20 months out - yoga, bike riding, walking, swimming, swordfighting, gardening, hula-hoops, devil and fairy sticks, body contact juggling, hiking, SUP.

I can't say I have a 'do this on this day' routine, except for yoga. I do yoga everyday and often ride my bike and from there I do whatever I can, whenever I can.

For me it is just being able to do. I had missed that like a flower would miss the sun. I will get myself into some pretty silly situations now (like yoga on a SUP board in a bayou in Houston, or stuck 20 ft up a tree, or quite literally so far into a local nature preserve we came out the other end and had to call hubby to come get us!!!), just for the hell of it, and it only occurs to me later that I am pretty sore or breathing hard or sweaty - which is awesome.

I'm 10 weeks out as of this past Monday. I am also training for a 5k and do intervals of 1 minute walking and 35 seconds jogging for about 3 miles, 3-4 times a week, outside. I've been walking over 3 miles since day 7 post-op. Need to start adding weights soon!

hey there i am 4 weeks post op, i started the gym on week 2, just doing the tredmill and eliptical... about 2 miles a day on one or the other, just at a slow walk pace

i had my first softball game at 3 weeks and had no issues

i started doing the stair climber yesterday, and let me tell you I LOVE IT! i was seriously sweating my butt off after 5 min of this... i jumped off and was like so winded... walked around a bit to catch my breath and came back and did 3 min of stedy up stair movement, jumped off again and did this for about 5 times total and i was so pooped!!! i felt great tho.

tonight i am going to see about doing some weights and tummy inbetween

there is a lady weight room and i may come in and out... the guys there i am trying to get friendly with but its like i am a new kid on the block cant jump in the middle lol

I was sleeved 3/25/13. I do a 45 min step class twice a week, 50 minute circuit class 3 times a week (alternates weights and cardio in 90 second intervals), and 40 minutes on the elliptical at home on the remaining days or if I can't make it to the gym. I am meeting with a personal trainer on Tues and will likely sign up for sessions twice a week - it's time to really focus on muscle mass now.

I'm six months post op. My routine includes 45 mins of cardio on the tredmill at a very steep incline at about 3.6 mph. Sometimes i use the elliptical at level 14 (lifetouch machine). Then directly following I do circuit strength training. I do this about 3-4 times a week. Tues I will be starting a spin class!!! Really excited for this :)

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
