Emilysmom 41 Posted August 21, 2013 Hiya guys...almost a month out...doing fantastic, weight is dropping off but doctor says I need to increase protein..I simply cannot consume more than a few spoonfulls without being completely full. Today I got a B12 shot cause I am wiped out, he says Protein will help that..how far along were you guys when you started to be able to eat like 6 ounces? any help would be greatly appreciated..thanks !!! TwinsMama 483 Posted August 21, 2013 My Dr said don't expect to eat that much until almost a year out. At least 6 months but probably a year. Have you tried pureeing your Protein again? Maybe that will help you get more down.
Emilysmom 41 Posted August 21, 2013 yes and still cannot consume much..I get so full, so fast..ugh! thanks hun !
No game 14,437 Posted August 21, 2013 You need to make your meals count. You are early out so Protein shakes are still a viable option. Greek yogurt (Fage) has lots of Protein per ounce also cottage cheese. 4 Emilysmom, paisleyponds, Kaj and 1 other reacted to this
DeniseM 238 Posted August 21, 2013 I can eat 6 ounces at 10 weeks out, but it takes me about 30 minutes to do so. What I do so that I can get my Protein in and not get too full is that I use a stopwatch timer on my phone, and I take one bite every 5 minutes. When I do this, I can consume enough protein and calories so I feel like a human, and I do not get too full. 2 Emilysmom and TwinsMama reacted to this

MIJourney 490 Posted August 21, 2013 At 2 weeks out (same day I went back to work) I could do greek yogurt and cottage cheese. Granted the 6 oz lemon greek yogurt took a couple of hours to eat and the 4 oz cottage cheese about 30 mins or so. I just had them in a desk drawer and took a spoonful every now and then. 1 Emilysmom reacted to this
BKLYNgal87 503 Posted August 21, 2013 You can also do Soups and stir in unflavored (note - not tasteless) Protein Powder.< /p> 2 TwinsMama and Emilysmom reacted to this
No game 14,437 Posted August 21, 2013 Oh one thing about yogurt!! Greek yogurt that is... A lot of the big food companies are jumping on to the Greek yogurt train (new buzz word you know) and making fake Greek yogurt. Read your labels! Fage is real there are a couple of other brands too but I've not tried them all First I do 2% because I'm not opposed to a little fat in my diet. But the 0% tastes ok too, I just feel it doesn't stick with me that long ( I eat this as a meal not a snack) Things like Danon light and fit greek? Be careful with all the ingredients including cornstarch to thicken it (Not a true Greek yogurt) same with the yoplait Greek not true Greek it's milk Protein concentrates and Gelatin, bean locust gum to thicken.... 1 Emilysmom reacted to this

Emilysmom 41 Posted August 21, 2013 Fage it is! thanks again! cant wait to start eating real foods next week
No game 14,437 Posted August 21, 2013 Fage it is! thanks again! cant wait to start eating real foods next week Oh I must say its plain Greek yogurt! So not sweetened. I do put a little stevia in it and because I'm further out and frozen blueberries too But newly sleeved people can do stevia (or splenda) with vanilla extract or some people like the sugar free Torani (sp?) syrups. 1 Emilysmom reacted to this
