Calling all floor nurses or aides

Recommended Posts

How long did you take off of work? I'm seriously stressed about this as I can only afford like 2 weeks..I work on a med/surg floor so it can require a lot of lifting/pulling

I'm a floor nurse on a med surg floor also, and I took off 4 weeks. because my job requires a lot of lifting on patients and running up and down the halls.

I am a floor aide, we hold up to 40 patients in a hospital. Not lifting is not an option. I explained to the dr my job, he said I will be fine in 2wk, 3wk max if I need it.

I am a Labor and delivery nurse and I took off 8 week (good short disability) I feel you at least need 4 weeks girl if u are on the floor. U will not be able to lift, walk etc and feel like yourself until then. I don't know if you work 8 or 12 hour shifts, I work 12 and I did not have the energy until at least 6 weeks out. I am sorry to say this but if you can't get light duty then u could really hurt yourself and be out of a job. Keep it up but be careful!

I am an ER nurse and took off 10 days. I could have gone back sooner. I felt great by day 3. I just took the next week as my me-week, got my hair cut, nails done, gardened, shopped, etc.

I'm a pediatric nurse and I'm taking 7 weeks. My employer also has an awesome short term disability plan but I also banked away enough PTO so I could have that long. I wanted to be on regular food and have an eating routine in place before I attempted to go back. I work 12 hour night shifts and need to be 100% ready to return. I'm a week post op right now and I couldn't imagine going back next week. Just the thought makes me want to take a nap lol

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
