How many calories should i be eating..

Recommended Posts

I'm 9 weeks post-op, and I eat 600 to 700 calories a day.. Is that too much or do I need to eat more? Thanks for all your feedback!

Okay.. Thanks! I can barely eat 700, I'm not hungry at all.. I've lost 47 lbs in 2 months and now I'm stalling which is why I'm wondering if I should increase my calorie intake.. How much have you lost?

I didn't stall until month 3 and that's when I increased my calories. I have lost 66lbs so far and 25lbs to go. I have slowed down in last 2 months but expected that, I also go to gym 4-5 times a week. It gets harder the further out you get to drop weight. I also try to keep carbs between 50-100.

Thank you.. I do try to get on my elliptical every day and I do weights for my arms.. I'm still very tired most days but its getting better everyday.. I still have 80 to 85 lbs to lose so I'm hoping my weight loss doesn't slow down just yet.. :)

I'm more focused on Protein than calories, but at 10 months out I average 900-1000 calories daily.

I would say shoot for at least 800-1000 cals. Also make sure you're getting 80-90g of Protein.< /p>

As Brandy said, keeping your carbs low will help too.

Thank you guys.. It's really hard to get more than 50 to 60 grams of Protein in everyday but I'm trying.. I'm sure that's what I need more of too.. I do eat low carb foods, just not enough of calories. I'll try to up my calories and protein and see if that helps..

My nutritionist told me not to eat more than 700 calories until I was 3 months out. Every post-surgery plan is different. If you're allowed a little more and you can comfortably eat it then why not.

I know it's hard to get enough Protein in and there's only so many Protein Shakes you can take before going crazy. What I've started eating for Breakfast each morning is weight control quaker oatmeal (has 8 grams of protein / 7 grams fiber... something like that) and half a scoop of unflavored Protein Powder. I knock out 215 calories and 20 grams of protein. But I balance it out by not eating much in the way of carbs later on in the day. Shrimp is a great lunch or dinner option for protein-loading!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
