Oh an hour or so is not bad that is still pretty close. I had my surgery at ORMC in moddletown by Dr. Judd on July 18 2013. I am a month post op. My weight the day I came home from hospital was 321lbs & now I am down 24 lbs @ 297 lbs :) how are you doing/feeling since surgery? If you do not mind me asking?

So far so good. Everyday gets a little better =). I dont think I am getting the Protein that I should be in me but I try a little more each day. Although I should be doing puree I am a little scared of food and have mainly been sticking to liquids. Icepops are my salvation and I have frozen some Isopure to get at least a little more Protein in me each day. I am definitely scared that I am going to lose my hair but like I said I am trying. When i do have actual food it is not very enjoyable and just feels like a lump in the center of my body... I find myself counting the minutes until I can drink something again. Do you have any tips as to what goes down easy and is protein? Did you not enjoy food at first? Does that get better, will I eventually get to the point that I like what is going in my mouth?

I apreciate any feedback you can give me.

btw that is excellent how far you have come! Are you continuously losing? Have you hit any plateaus? What has been your major setbacks throughout the process so far?

Yes everyday does get better! If you don't think your getting your protein in try tracking everything on myfitnesspal! It will help you keep track of how much protein you are actually taking in. Adding Protein powder to your pureed food will help as well with getting in the amount of protein our bodies need.

I was afraid of food at first as well & that to shall pass as you get used to what your sleeve will tolerate! As you & your sleeve become well known to each other & as you learn just what your sleeve can & will tolerate, your fear of eating will disappear. Re-introduce foods slowly. It may take you a few days to a week or more sometimes before you may feel comfortable adding a newer food to your menu. You may notice as well that some things may just not sit well with your sleeve one day but may not bother you at all another day. As you progress through the stages you will learn fairly quickly what your limits are & what your getting full signs are. You will learn where your comfortableness is & where your omg, that bite was one to many. I stuck mostly to scrambled eggs & baby food type things during the pureed stage. I also had cottage cheese, Jello & greek yogurt was a life saver for me at that stage as well & was what I had most of the time.

Stalls are common & if you go to the search section & put stalls in the search section you can get lots of valueable information on that subject! No I did not continuously lose, I had times I didn't lose anything & times where I lost more then I expected to. This journey varies so much, not just from person to person but each week within ourselves. Sometimes you just have to be patient & keep pushing forward, the scale will begin to move again! I keep track of my measurements as well & for me, I have found that most of the time when the scale is not moving the inches are melting away, which is your bodies way of catching up to the pounds you are losing! I am currently in a stall now as my weight has not moved for just over a month so far, which is the longest period of time I have gone without losing anything, but I have lost inches still which for me is just as exciting! I honestly don't believe I have had any major setbacks as this is a life journey & as in life nothing is easy but its how you manage to look at things & deal with things if & when a problem arises.

I hope this is helpful to you! I wish you the very best through your life journey to a much healthier you!!! Stay positive, push forward at all times, take it one day at a time & always remember it is not a race & doing it in a healthy manner will help you achieve your goals! You had a great surgeon & he is always kind & caring & always takes the time to listen to any questions &/or concerns you may have & always takes the time to give you the best answer he can! You are in good hands with Dr. Judd!

I am glad you had a good experience with him!!! & congratulations on wonderful success thus far & may you continue to be blessed through the future!!!!

I to was going to use I believe it was Anthony as well. I was going to the office in goshen but he flat out lied & said my only options were the lap-band or RNY & that he felt it was best for me to get the lap-band which I knew for 100% I did not want. Then his therapist doesnt acceot insurnace & I had to pay $100 to see herb& she wouldn't clear me but when I went thru Crystal Run with Dr. Judd everything went so smoothly!!! Dr. Pucci's office also refused to send over copies of the results of all my blood work & any tests I had already had done & so I had to redo some of the requirements again but not to many.

I am glad that you also had a good experience with him & that you are doing very well! He was always polite when I was in the office & I have met others who have used him & loved their experience but I am not downing him just stating my personal experience with his office. I just didn't like how I was lied to & when I found a doctor who was willing to do the sleeve & also finding out that yes my insurance did indeed cover the sleeve I was very annoyed about being lied to.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
