My Day has come !

I think that the tracking works too. Two weeks ago I found a site called Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test and I went on it as I was stalled in a plateau for too long and felt that I could eat too much. It was hard (the second day especially) but it got me back to eating more Protein and I lost 5 pounds! I was worried that the following week I may gain weight, but I lost another 1/2 pound the following week.

It also shrunk my pouch a bit, so I am eating less than I was. It is really for bypass patients, but Jill at TLBC said she thought it was a good idea. I'm thinking that I may do this every two months or so to help me keep on track.

Also, even when I'm eating salad, I add a spoonful of plain Beans to the salad to increase the protein. It's healthy and they aren't hard to get down!

Take care,

mary

p.s. I wish that I lived closer too, as I would like to go to the boot camps and things offered.

Great Job Mary. As much as I hate the tracking, it does work for me. Thanks for the great link. I also track my water...I thought I drank more than I actually do. Congrats!:D

Bandiva,

I'm so jealous, you are at your goal weight! (well, close enough that I'm sure you are happy with it) I dream of the day that my counter shows me so close to my goal. How long did it take you? It will likely take me until this time next year for the next 50 pounds to come off, but as long as it continues to decrease, I'll be happy.

You are right about the Water. I really try to get in that water, but it's hard. I wake up thirsty too, when I start drinking more. It's like my body says "great, bring it on!"

I love that site thanks so much. I was in the same boat, I was drinking less Water then I thought.

My weight loss is very slow right now, so I will try the 5 diet. I am making the pumpkin sausage Soup as we speak !

I'm so glad, it really helped me. I seemed stuck for three months and it broke the plateau and I have finally lost 50 pounds now. I lose really slowly and the 7th November was my first year anniversary, but I feel optimistic again. My next goad is to get into the 30's. I haven't seen those for at least 15 years.

How did your week go?

Mary

It is going pretty good, I find if I write down what I eat, I am much better and try not to snack on food that goes down easy. Those Protein Drinks with a banana work great for me as I can't eat a banana any othey way. They are filling ! I so need to hit the gym more !!! :)

Had a fill in Toronto On Thursday all was well untul saturday when I could not even drink water.. It was awful, I was flying back on Sunday so was relieved when I was able to drink a little... I went to a down town hospital but they did not want to touch me !!! I later found out that I should have gone to Scarbourgh Grace,, oh well I hope I never have to do that again.

Yasmina,

Glad that you got yourself sorted with the fill.

How did you get on with the 5 day pouch test? It seemed to kick start my metabolism a bit. I still only lose about half a pound a week, but that is better than what I was doing.

It was pretty good !

I must admit I really liked some of the Soup recipies on that site... pumpkin sausage soupwas really good... I did make it light... skipped the sour cream and the cream, used milk instead.

I had a fill three weeks ago and it is so weird, sometimes I have trouble drinking Water wihil other times I am fine to eat food... I am going to Toronto on Thursday and talk to them about a possible 1/4 cc defill...

I find time of day and time of month makes a huge difference. Wierd. I am trying to learn to listen to my band and not push it.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
